A bent or worn arbor puts runout into every rotor you cut. We measure it and repair or replace.
Feed Won’t Advance

Lathe won’t start, bogs down under load, or grinds and whines. Motor, belts, pulleys and switches.

Brake Lathe Service Before It Breaks
Most lathe failures give warning signs first: a finish that’s slowly getting rougher, a new noise, a feed that hesitates. A scheduled brake lathe service catches that wear while it’s still a small repair.
Our service visit covers lubrication, bearing and arbor checks, feed adjustment, adapter inspection and a test cut. Busy shops usually schedule it once or twice a year.

What causes chatter marks when cutting rotors?
The most common causes are worn spindle bearings, a missing or loose silencer, play in the cross slide, or dull tool bits. If new bits and a silencer don’t fix it, the lathe needs service.
How much does brake lathe repair cost?

Is it worth repairing an old brake lathe?
